| A category page defines an "is a" relation for pages. A page may be assigned to any number of categories. For example, a page with the category assignment [[Category:Position]] "is a" position page. The subject of the page "is a" position.

| A concept page defines an implicit "is-a" relation determined by a database query rather than by an explicit tag within each member page. The concept page encodes the query in a user-editable form. For example, the scope of the query for Concept:Forum happens to include the page Stuff:Election Methods which thereby "is a" forum page; the subject of the page "is a" forum.[1] For more information, see Help:Concepts.
